The Town of Islip Is a Big Tent
"Islip" means different things depending on who you ask. The village of Islip on the south shore is different from Central Islip inland, which is different from West Islip near the Babylon border. The Town of Islip covers all of them plus Bay Shore, Oakdale, Sayville, and more.
We have done jobs in every one of those hamlets. The housing stock varies but the underlying permit process and the overall spec conversation are consistent because the Town of Islip building department handles all non-village addresses.
What Islip Homes Need From a Door Installation Contractor
South shore capes and ranches. Islip, East Islip, West Islip. 1950s-60s post-war tract with rear additions. Insulated fiberglass or premium for bay-adjacent.
Central Islip and Brentwood ranches. Inland, less salt concern, more affordable spec. Monogram 46 fiberglass is the workhorse here.

Bay proximity varies. Islip and East Islip have bay-adjacent neighborhoods with salt exposure. Central Islip is 5-6 miles inland and salt is not a factor. We spec by location, not by town name.
Wall insulation on older stock. Same as Bay Shore. Pre-1980 Islip capes and ranches benefit from insulated fiberglass upgrades. We quote insulated vs standard on almost every cape.
Village addresses. Village of Islip has its own small architectural sensitivity in the historic core. We handle it.
Dumpster permits for narrow lots. Common in older Islip neighborhoods. We pull them where needed.

The Town of Islip building department is in Islip proper on Main Street. Most Islip, East Islip, Central Islip, Brentwood, and West Islip addresses are pulled through here. Typical turnaround is 8-14 business days.
Village of Islip and village of Brightwaters addresses have separate village permit processes. We handle both.
